WASHINGTON, D.C.– Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today announced that the application process for Military Service Academy nominations for the Class of 2027 is now open.
As a member of Congress, Rep. Gallagher can nominate high school students in his district to attend a Military Service Academy, including the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
“Over the past six years, it has been my privilege to nominate some of the finest young patriots from Northeast Wisconsin to attend a Military Service Academy and serve our great country,” said Rep. Gallagher. “This is the opportunity of a lifetime for motivated students seeking a challenge and looking to distinguish themselves as leaders. If you think you have what it takes and want to join the proud few who have stepped up to defend the Republic, then please apply.”
Last year, four students that Rep. Gallagher nominated were appointed to service academies, including:
  • JoLee Klingeisen, who attends Pulaski High School and was appointed to the United States Air Force Academy.
  • Drew Homan, who attends Fox Valley Lutheran High School and was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
  • Jackson Smits, who attends Shawano High School and was appointed to the United States Naval Academy.
  • Emma Hujet, who attends De Pere High School and was appointed to the United States Naval Academy.
To be considered for a nomination to a Military Service Academy, students should request an application from David Brooker by calling 920-301-4500.
