LA CROSSE – Today, a straw poll conducted by WisPolitics during the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s State Convention showed Wisconsin State Treasurer and candidate for U.S. Senate Sarah Godlewski “effectively tied” with Mandela Barnes among the democratic faithful and core primary voters.
“Today makes it clear that no one should underestimate Sarah Godlewski. Voters were able to look at the candidates side-by-side this weekend and compare who they are and what they each stand for–and they are lining up behind her just like we said they would,” said Sarah Abel, spokesperson for the Sarah For Wisconsin campaign. “The Party’s grassroots leaders and strong primary voters are with Sarah because they know she will always prioritize reproductive freedom and that she is our best chance to beat Ron Johnson. With six weeks left to go, this race is wide open, and there’s clear momentum behind Sarah’s campaign.”
This comes as the Sarah for Wisconsin campaign received more individual donations than any day since the launch of our campaign on Friday, only to surpass that number on Saturday.
