Madison— The Wisconsin Veterans of Foreign Wars is celebrating 100 years of service to veterans during their 2022 state convention at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino in Milwaukee, June 7-11th. Retired US Army Staff Sergeant and “Recalibrated Warrior,” Travis Mills will be the featured speaker during the 1920s Gala held Thursday, June 9th. The gala is open to members, auxiliary and the public. The Hendricks Family Foundation is sponsoring Travis Mills participation in the event.

“Wisconsin VFW held our first Convention in Milwaukee 100 years ago and we want to bring the tradition back to its origins,” said VFW State Commander, Cory Geisler. “We are honored the Hendricks Family Foundation stepped up to help us make this a great event. The Foundation values – honoring those who protect our communities and our country, and acknowledging the sacrifices made for freedom – align closely with the Wisconsin VFW’s goals and purposes.”

The Hendricks Family Foundation supports non-profit organizations that are working to shape, strengthen and sustain fellowship locally, particularly in their home community of Beloit Wisconsin. They provide support to a number of veteran-focused organizations, including previous support for the Travis Mills Foundation. The Wisconsin VFW has served veterans, military and their families in communities across the state for over 100 years.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Wisconsin has 246 Posts in 10 districts with over 25,000 members and 8,500 in its Auxiliary. The Department was chartered on June 6th of 1921. VFW is a national organization and is the largest combat veteran organization in the world.
