Anna Maria Hodges, Democratic nominee for Milwaukee County Clerk of Circuit Court, issued the following statement regarding her victory in the August 9 primary election:

“I am deeply honored by the trust, confidence, and support of my neighbors all across Milwaukee County. From Bayside to Franklin, from Havenwoods to Hales Corners, our community came together in support of a bold vision for justice in Milwaukee County. I am so thankful to my family, my friends, volunteers, supporters, and each and every voter who cast a ballot in today’s race.

“Tonight, we made history. We brought the people’s voice to the halls of justice. You can trust that I will not let you down: I will show up at work on January 2 ready to do what I’ve done for thirty years – make our government work for the people of Milwaukee County.

“I spoke on Tuesday evening with Mr. Christenson. I thank him for his many years of public service, and wish him the best in his continued service as County Clerk. We are strongest when we come together and I look forward to working with all our partners to make our courts as efficient and accessible as possible.

“Again, thank you. We achieved this victory together, working throughout our community to distribute literature, put up signs, and share our collective vision for change. I could not be more grateful for the outpouring of support that you have blessed me with.”
