MADISON, Wis. — Today, four District Attorneys from counties across Wisconsin announced their endorsement of Attorney General Josh Kaul’s campaign for reelection. These endorsements follow the announcement this week of endorsements from more than 30 Wisconsin mayors, as well as a bipartisan coalition of District Attorneys announced earlier this month.

“Attorney General Kaul understands that our communities need resources to fight fentanyl and the opioid epidemic,” said Forest County District Attorney Chuck Simono. “He supported funding for additional prosecutors, which has directly helped Forest County. His administration helped secure hundreds of millions from opioid companies to fight the opioid epidemic. And he has been a consistent voice for more resources for public safety. We need to re-elect AG Kaul.”

“As a former regional drug prosecutor at Wisconsin DOJ, I know how dedicated Attorney General Kaul is to combating the drug epidemic and making communities safer,” said Portage County District Attorney Cass Cousins. “It was an easy choice to support him for re-election.”

“I am proud to endorse Attorney General Josh Kaul. Josh recognizes the importance of taking a comprehensive approach to public safety,” said Rock County District Attorney David O’Leary. “From focusing on holding violent criminals accountable to providing community resources to address drug addiction and mental health issues, Josh Kaul is clearly the best choice for Attorney General.”

“AG Kaul has worked to hold opioid companies accountable for their role in fueling the opioid crisis, and he’s gotten results,” said Taylor County District Attorney Kristi Tlusty. “Through the work of AG Kaul’s administration, counties, and municipalities, Wisconsin has secured hundreds of millions of dollars, and some of those resources will support our efforts to fight the opioid epidemic in Taylor County. I’m proud to endorse AG Kaul, a true partner for communities across the state.”
