MADISON, Wis. — Today, a coalition of mayors from across Wisconsin announced their endorsement of Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul for reelection. Representing communities across the state, these local leaders are backing AG Kaul because of his focus on public safety and building strong communities and his record of delivering results for Wisconsin.

“I’ve seen Josh Kaul tested. He was on the ground in Kenosha during one of the toughest crises we’ve faced during my more than 20 years as mayor,” said Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian. “And I can tell you that he has integrity, skill, judgment, and guts. He’s a proven leader who knows how to make communities safer, and I strongly support him for re-election.”

“Josh Kaul is easily the best choice for Attorney General,” said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson. “He has put dangerous criminals behind bars, he’s offered serious proposals for investing in public safety, and he’s been a strong advocate for common-sense laws that can prevent gun violence. Unlike his Republican opponent, who has tried to use Milwaukee as a political punching bag, AG Kaul has shown that he knows what we need to do to fight crime and make communities safer.”

“At a time when there’s been so much partisanship and division from politicians, Attorney General Josh Kaul has been focused on how he can help make our communities safer and stronger,” said Menasha Mayor Don Merkes. “AG Kaul understands that increasing shared revenue is vital to ensuring that municipalities can provide the funding needed for law enforcement and other critical services. My vote is to re-elect Josh Kaul!”

“AG Josh Kaul knows the issues we face in northern Wisconsin. He’s heard from folks in northern Wisconsin and he listens,” said Superior Mayor Jim Paine. “He knows how important it is to stand up for working families and to protect clean water, and he hasn’t hesitated to do that as Attorney General. I heartily endorse Josh Kaul.”

“From fighting crime and the opioid crisis, to making our schools safer, to addressing PFAS contamination, Attorney General Kaul has been a true leader on many of the toughest issues we face,” said La Crosse Mayor Mitch Reynolds. “Josh Kaul has been an outstanding Attorney General for La Crosse and all of Wisconsin, and I am proud to endorse him.”

“Throughout his time as Attorney General, Josh Kaul has worked to strengthen communities across the state,” said Milton Mayor Anissa Welch. “He helped get accountability from opioid companies, worked to reform our sexual assault kits laws, and called for investments in mental health care and treatment for substance-use disorder. We need to keep Josh Kaul in the AG’s Office for another four years.”
