[Waukesha, Wis.] — Candidate for governor Rebecca Kleefisch released the following statement Tuesday after Gov. Tony Evers announced his election-year executive order attempting to hide his true record on gas prices:
“Tony Evers’ disingenuous executive order is nothing more than an election-year stunt, attempting to deflect from his own failures, which include proposing a near 40-percent increase in the gas tax.
“Evers is parroting President Biden’s talking points, blaming local gas stations for high prices, and attacking American-made energy. But we know liberals’ ‘incredible transition‘ away from fossil fuels is the ultimate cause — no matter if Wisconsin families are the ones paying these outrageous prices at the pump.”
