[Waukesha, WI] – Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform, endorsed Rebecca Kleefisch’s campaign for Governor on Tax Day, highlighting her record and commitment to cutting taxes for Wisconsin families.

“Given her long record of public service in defense of Wisconsin taxpayers and her leadership in favor or conservative reform, I am endorsing Rebecca Kleefisch to be the next Governor of Wisconsin,” Norquist said in a series of tweets. “In her bid to be the next Governor of Wisconsin, [Kleefisch] has pledged to oppose and veto any and all efforts to raise taxes. As part of the Walker administration, [Kleefisch] championed landmark entitlement reform that continues to pay dividends for Wisconsin, having saved taxpayers $15 billion since 2011.”

“At the end of the day, I am a mom on a budget. As Governor, I will always work to put more money in your pocket by cutting state taxes and working to lower the cost of living in Wisconsin,” said Rebecca Kleefisch, candidate for Governor. “I’m proud to have the support of a proven conservative tax cutter like Grover Norquist in my mission to take back Wisconsin.”

As a part of the Walker Administration, Kleefisch championed transformational tax reform, saving Wisconsin taxpayers $15 billion since 2011. In a column published Sunday in Wisconsin Right Now, Kleefisch detailed the principles that will drive her tax policy decisions as governor.

Norquist joins a slate of other conservatives backing Kleefisch’s campaign for governor. Gov. Scott Walker, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, Rep. Tom Tiffany, Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump Deputy National Security Advisor K.T. McFarland, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, Ted Nugent, the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Wisconsin Family Action, and Wisconsin Right to Life.
