Maria Lazar cannot defend her record as a judge which includes giving a convicted rapist only a few months in jail. So, as unconscionable as it is, her dark money supporters have chosen to stoop as low as possible with dishonest attacks that shamefully invoke the deaths of victims at the Waukesha Christmas Parade.
Waukesha is still healing. Survivors continue to deal with physical and emotional trauma. Every airing of the ad re-traumatizes them. The cowards who are airing this ad should immediately take it down and I call on Maria Lazar to join me in demanding they do so. My campaign has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the stations airing this despicable ad.
As a prosecutor for over 20 years protecting children, meeting the needs of victims of crime, and keeping communities safe, it is painful to me to see survivors re-traumatized. This ad is a horrific example of the depths to which dark money supporters of Maria Lazar will sink and their utter and inhuman disregard for innocent people still reeling from a tragedy.
