MADISON – Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell, known for her data-driven commentaries on politics and policy, is coming to UW–Madison on May 2 as the La Follette School’s 2022 Public Affairs Journalist in Residence. She will meet with faculty and students and appear in a livestreamed conversation with David Haynes of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Rampell is also a political and economic commentator for CNN and a special correspondent for “PBS News Hour.” Before joining The Post, she was a reporter and editor for The New York Times and launched the blog Economix.

In the livestream event, which will take place May 2 at 6:00 p.m., Rampell will share thoughts on her career and discuss current events, including the impact of the war in Ukraine and rising inflation on average Americans.

This event is free, open to the public, and available via YouTube livestream.

Rampell will also be a keynote panelist at the May 4 La Follette Forum.
