Milwaukee – Today, Alex Lasry announced that his campaign has made several new hires as the campaign ramps up for the August primary.
Shannon Rice, Finance Director – Shannon Rice is a Senate fundraising veteran who has worked on multiple campaigns, most notably for Senator Jeff Merkley and Senator Michael Bennet. She also worked on Senator Bennet’s presidential race.
Rebecca Osmolski, Digital Director – Rebecca is joining the Lasry campaign from Senator Mazie Hirono’s D.C. office, where she served as Digital Director. She is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and has held numerous roles on Capitol Hill, including in the office of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Christina Freundlich, Communications Advisor – Christina was most recently a senior advisor to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, after serving in a leadership role on Senator Amy Klobuchar’s 2020 presidential campaign. She has served as a spokesperson on four presidential campaigns including President Biden’s campaign, four Senate and gubernatorial campaigns, and for the Democratic National Committee.
The new hires come just weeks after the campaign released new polling showing Lasry surging in the Democratic Primary. Lasry now trails Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes by only 8 points, a 31-point swing in just 6 months. The campaign’s polling memo can be found here.
Lasry’s campaign is currently on the air with a statewide TV buy, targeting Ron Johnson for his continued failure to deliver for Wisconsin families, including his refusal to fight to bring jobs back to Wisconsin, his support for phasing out Social Security and Medicare, and his endorsement of the new Republican plan that would raise taxes on middle class families. Lasry’s new ad can be found here.
The Democratic Primary Election for the United States Senate will be held Tuesday, August 9th, 2022. For more information about Alex Lasry’s campaign, visit www.alexlasry.com.
