Milwaukee – Today, Alex Lasry, candidate for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, released a new polling memo showing that his campaign has continued to gain ground in the Democratic Primary.

Since the first public polls were released last fall, support for Lasry has grown by 23 points among Democratic primary voters. Lasry now sits in a solid 2nd place, just 8 points behind Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, a 31-point swing in just 6 months.

The poll, conducted by Normington Petts, shows several key data points demonstrating Lasry’s momentum. The polling memo released by the campaign can be found here.

  • Lasry is now just 8 points behind Mandela Barnes, 27% – 35%. No other candidate received more than 7% of the vote.

  • Lasry’s name ID has grown to 50%, growing more than 25 points in the last six months.

  • Among voters who know both Lasry and Barnes, Lasry leads 41% – 35%.

  • More voters (36%) believe that Lasry is the best candidate to beat Ron Johnson, while 28% of voters believe that Barnes is.

“This poll shows Alex Lasry clearly has momentum and is best positioned to be the Democratic nominee to beat Ron Johnson in November,” said Garren Randolph, Lasry’s campaign manager. “Voters are responding to Alex’s proven record of raising wages, bringing jobs and investments to our state, and building things right here in Wisconsin. That’s what voters want and that is exactly what Alex will do as Wisconsin’s next U.S. Senator.”

The Democratic Primary Election for the United States Senate will be held Tuesday, August 9th, 2022. For more information about Alex Lasry’s campaign, visit www.alexlasry.com.
