Lucas submits maximum 3,000 signatures of Milwaukee residents

MILWAUKEE – Earnell Lucas, Milwaukee County Sheriff and candidate for mayor of Milwaukee, today issued the following statement regarding submitting his nomination papers to have his name placed on the ballot this spring:

“Today marks an important milestone for our campaign as I entered the City of Milwaukee Election Commission to hand in my nomination papers to officially have my name placed on the ballot for this special election to be Milwaukee’s next mayor.

“I am proud of the strength and organization of our campaign as we were able to submit 3,000 signatures of Milwaukee residents – the maximum allowable for any candidate – despite the short timetable and the ongoing pandemic. This shows that we have the infrastructure and the will to win this election.

“With this important step behind us, our attention now shifts to the primary election on Tuesday, February 15. I look forward to earning the trust and support of voters in the weeks to come. Together, we will make Milwaukee a city on the rise.”
