Congratulations to Chris Carbon on his selection as the next Chief of the Madison Fire Department. Carbon has worked his way up the Fire Department’s career ladder since 1999, serving as firefighter and paramedic before becoming Division Chief in charge of Emergency Medical Services Training and Logistics. He brings a patient-centered approach to his work and supported the continued development of the CARES alternative response team for mental health emergencies. I look forward to working with him on this and other innovations at the Fire Department.
I want to thank the members of the PFC for once again overseeing a comprehensive process to choose our next Fire Chief. We were very fortunate to have four exceptionally well-qualified candidates from our own department competing for this position. I want to thank all the other finalists for their service to the City and wish them many more years of success in the Madison Fire Department.
