On the Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly employment data releaseMain Street Alliance’s Executive Director Chanda Causer had this to say:

“Today’s news is even more evidence that what small businesses need now are large-scale, public investments that make it possible for small businesses to be the creators of good, high-quality jobs in their communities. Black and other marginalized workers continue to experience unacceptable disparities in the labor market. Black and Latina women, in particular, face significant challenges accessing paid leave and the child care they need to be in the labor force. Unnecessarily forcing millions of workers into unemployment to curb inflation will not address the persistent, systemic issues that hold our economy back. Now is the time to invest in a healthy and inclusive economy that supports families, workers, and small businesses.”
