Lancaster, WI – State Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) today announced that he has been endorsed by nine major agricultural organizations. The Volunteers for Agriculture / Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation, Dairy Business Association, Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association, Wisconsin Pork Association, Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association, Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association, Wisconsin Dairy Alliance, Venture Dairy Coop and the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association declared their support early in the campaign cycle to demonstrate their strong support for his re-election to the state Senate to represent the 17th Senate District.
“I have worked hard to be a voice for farmers. I understand their challenges and opportunities because I have walked miles in their shoes,” Marklein said. “I know that they want us to listen to their concerns and solutions – and support their local efforts to keep farming a robust industry in Wisconsin. I am proud to work on their behalf.”

He has served as a champion for dairy and agriculture throughout his tenure, previously as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee and in his current post as co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee,” DBA President Amy Penterman said. “An example of Senator Marklein’s keen understanding of dairy’s critical importance was his leadership in the creation of the Dairy Innovation Hub. This program, on three University of Wisconsin campuses, provides world-class research in dairy production, water and land conservation, animal health and human nutrition. The endorsements were announced at a gathering of farmers and supporters at Vesperman Farms in Lancaster on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
