GOP guv candidate Tim Michels is up with a new TV ad refuting the charge he supported a gas tax increase, saying the attacks are “what happens when the establishment gets desperate.”
Michels’ campaign declined to release details on the buy behind the 15-second spot.
It comes after GOP guv rival Rebecca Kleefisch has run two ads hitting Michels on the gas tax, including one that features former Gov. Scott Walker. The PAC supporting Kleefisch’s campaign has also knocked Michels on TV over the issue.
The spot opens with the narrator saying, “The corrupt establishment is falsely attacking Tim Michels.” The spot doesn’t mention Kleefisch by name, but shows her image on the screen.
The narrator says Michels has “never supported higher gas taxes” then shows the candidate in a red truck saying the establishment is “desperate.”
The narrator closes the spot, “Tim Michels: Trump endorsed, job creating American patriot.”
