MILWAUKEE – On Saturday, June 18 Historic Concordia Neighbors Inc. will lead a tour of homes and buildings from the Gilded Age around the city.
“I’d like to encourage all residents who enjoy Milwaukee’s rich architectural history to attend this tour,” said Supervisor Peter Burgelis. “My thanks goes out to the neighborhood association for organizing this tour, and to the many participants who return year after year. The city’s commitment to preservation and revitalization makes it possible to see many of these historic buildings still in use today.”
The tour will feature more than 10 homes and buildings around the city, with refreshments available all day. Participants will have the option of taking part in a beer tasting while talking with the homeowners and taking pictures with the Milwaukee Police Department Mounted Horse Patrol. There will be musical entertainment at various tour locations throughout the day.
The tour will begin at the Wgechda Building on the Potawatomi Campus at 9:30 a.m. with a Pie & Cake Social. Milwaukee Historian, John C. Eastberg, will begin speaking at 10 a.m.
Area homes that are for sale will be open or identified.
