MILWAUKEE—Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson today endorsed George Christenson in the race for Milwaukee County Clerk of Court. This is a critical position to address current challenges in the justice system, including a massive backlog in Milwaukee County courts. Mayor Johnson adds his name to more than 80 other local leaders who have already endorsed Christenson, after Milwaukee County’s judges appointed him Clerk of Court in February.

“George Christenson is a smart, strong, strategic leader who is making necessary reforms in the Clerk of Court’s office,” said Mayor Johnson. “He has my full support.”

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Mayor Cavalier Johnson,” said Christenson. “I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with him in the past, and look forward to working with him in my capacity as Clerk of Circuit Court, particularly in the area of housing. The courts recently secured funding to hire a full-time eviction diversion program coordinator. I am committed to working with Mayor Johnson to make this effort a success in the City of Milwaukee.”
