MILWAUKEE – Police Chief Jeffrey Norman, will be the featured speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon, hosted jointly by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Norman was named acting police chief in December 2020 and named Chief of Police in November 2021, wrapping up a year of turmoil over the city’s top law enforcement position.

He will give an update on his new role, community outreach and goals to address reckless driving and violent crime in the city. With more than 190 homicides this year, Milwaukee has broken the murder rate for the second year in a row.

Norman will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St.

Cancellations will be accepted up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund.

The Press Club is requiring that everyone attending the event be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, or have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to the event. Masking is encouraged in ordinance with CDC recommendations. *Proof of vaccination or a negative test result will be checked at the door.
