MILWAUKEE (February 10, 2022) — Early Wednesday morning, South Division High School staff received a call about a potential threat at the school building. School leaders contacted the Milwaukee Police Department and then alerted MPS leaders. Our school quickly implemented lockdown procedures to ensure our students remained safe.
The Police Department assisted in efforts to secure the campus and investigated the threat.
Once the campus was deemed safe by the Police Department, classes resumed as scheduled and students were dismissed at the end of the school day. We’ve been in communication with staff and parents; classes are being held virtually today and we anticipate classes resuming as scheduled in person tomorrow.
The Police Department has identified a person of interest in this investigation and is handling all media inquiries at this time.
