Appleton, Wis. – Outagamie County Executive and U.S. Senate candidate Tom Nelson was endorsed by progressive heavyweight Harvey J. Kaye for his progressive vision that looks out for the working people of Wisconsin. Kaye is the author of several well known books, including Thomas Paine and the Promise of America along with The Fight for the Four Freedoms: What Made FDR and the Greatest Generation Truly Great. Kaye is also known for his work at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay as Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice.

Nelson said, “I’m so honored to have someone of Harvey Kaye’s stature and intellect supporting me. I have taken much inspiration from his pushing for an Economic Bill of Rights and appreciate his thought leadership in Wisconsin.”

In his endorsement, Kaye lauded Nelson representing Wisconsin’s finest progressive tradition:

“I enthusiastically support Tom Nelson for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. Embracing Wisconsin’s finest progressive values, Tom believes that every American has a right to a productive job that pays a living wage, a right to a voice in the workplace through membership in a union with collective bargaining powers, and a right to comprehensive quality healthcare. Indeed, Tom is committed to enabling every one of us to realize the nation’s historic promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
