Nelson Reiterated Call for Debates so Voters Can Make Informed Choice

Appleton, Wis. – Marquette Law School earlier today released the first nonpartisan poll of the 2022 Wisconsin Senate Democratic primary election. It had two giant takeaways: 48 percent of Democratic primary voters are undecided on who they’ll vote for come August and Ron Johnson – with a net negative 12 favorability rating – seems to be the least popular U.S. Senator in the country. Following is a response from U.S. Senate candidate Tom Nelson’s Campaign Manager Irene Lin:

“The new Marquette Poll shows that the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate is wide open, with statewide officeholders and the children of oligarchs who have spent MILLIONS unable to meaningfully distance themselves from the rest of the unknown field.

I’m confident as more Democratic voters hear Tom’s story as a son of a Lutheran pastor who has won six times in a Trump county, they will know he is the best candidate to take on America’s most disliked Senator in Ron Johnson.

This is an election – not a coronation. This is why it is so urgent the candidates MUST debate and put their ideas and positions before the public, and they have to do it now, since it’s clear that all their money isn’t going to buy victory come November.”
