“We need a Senator who understands the needs of working families and will well represent and serve them in the U.S. Senate.”

Appleton, Wis. – Veteran legislator Tony Staskunas today endorsed Tom Nelson for U.S. Senate, citing Nelson’s commitment to public service.

Staskunas has over three decades of legislative experience, beginning his legislative career as Alderman of the City of West Allis from 1988 to 1997. He was then elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, where he served from 1997 to 2013. Today, Staskunas serves on the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors as Chair of the Judiciary, Safety and General Services Committee and as a member of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee.

Nelson said, “Tony represents all that is good in public service. He has committed his life to representing and standing up for his community, as a city councilman, legislator and now county board supervisor. I am honored to have his support. When they say ‘They don’t make them like they used to,’ they’re talking about Tony Staskunas.”

Staskunas said:

“I served with Tom in the state Assembly. I know him to be a committed public servant and tireless worker who always puts his constituents first.”

We need a Senator who understands the needs of working families and will well represent and serve them in the US Senate. It is for that reason that I wholeheartedly endorse him for the US Senate.”

The campaign also released a tweet about the endorsement.
