Appleton, Wis. – Today, Outagamie County Executive and populist U.S. Senate candidate Tom Nelson called on President Biden to support and congressional leaders to take up and pass the Ban Russian Energy Imports Act. The legislation, authored by Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) counts 18 bipartisan co-sponsors in the US Senate. Speaker Pelosi has signaled support for such legislation.

“I hope President Biden will change his mind and strongly support the Ban Russian Energy Imports Act and I believe congressional leaders should bring the bill to a vote as soon as possible. It is a matter of national and global security.

This common sense bipartisan legislation will kick Russia where it hurts and put us on a path to a green sustainable future. The American people, our allies and especially the Ukrainians deserve nothing less.

“I fully support this administration’s efforts to investigate Big Oil’s price gouging of Americans that is causing us real pain at the pump and are a direct result of the illegal Russian invasion and the greed of Big Oil now making record profits.”
