Building Back Together, the Black Women’s Leadership Collective and She Will Rise jointly announced a $1 million ad campaign targeting Wisconsin and two other states highlighting the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court.
The groups said the ad will run on TV in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It also will run on digital and social media platforms targeting Black audiences in Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Atlanta. Those digital spots will primarily run on Black-owned media outlets and publications.
The groups also are planning events such as block parties in the three cities that they’re organizing with local partners. They previously did ads praising President Biden’s appointment of Jackson.
The new spot praises Biden for appointing the first Black woman to the U.S. Supreme Court and calls her “one of the most qualified nominees ever.”
Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee launched a similar buy on Black media outlets in Wisconsin and other states following Jackson’s confirmation.
The buys come on the heels of a national survey by the Marquette University Law School that found Biden’s job approval among Blacks had dropped from 88 percent in July 2021 to 56 percent last month.
