MADISON, Oct. 20, 2022 — NFIB in Wisconsin, the state’s leading small-business association, announced today that Representative David Armstrong (R-75 Rice Lake) is a recipient of their prestigious Guardian of Small Business Award which recognizes those legislators who have taken a strong and consistent stand for Wisconsin’s small business community during the 2021-22 Session of the Legislature.  The award is being presented at Two Sisters Boutique, 26 N. Main Street, Rice Lake at 3 p.m..

“As a leader in the Legislature, Representative Armstrong was a key player with passage of legislation that will protect small business owners from frivolous COVID-related lawsuits,” said Bill G. Smith, NFIB State Director in Wisconsin. “He also played a critically important role as lead author of legislation that excludes PPP loan proceeds from state taxation which will save small business owners millions of dollars.  We know he will continue to be an effective advocate for all issues that will help promote and strengthen Wisconsin’s small business community.”

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the organization’s highest honor, reserved for lawmakers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and consistency in supporting the small business agenda.  On the issues last session identified by NFIB members as most important, Representative Born’s strong support of the NFIB agenda was pivotal on ensuring that small businesses and the issues that affect them are a priority.
