DELAFIELD, Wis. – Today, Wisconsin Republican gubernatorial candidate Kevin Nicholson announced his 5 Point Plan for a Safer Wisconsin. The plan comes as Wisconsinites throughout the state have seen dramatic upticks in violent crime.

5 Point Plan for a Safer Wisconsin:

  • Build the Nicholson for Wisconsin ‘Law Enforcement Advisory Team’ (which currently includes 30 sheriffs who support Kevin’s candidacy);
  • Require mandatory minimum sentencing for violent criminals;
  • Institute mandatory minimum bail for violent offenses;
  • Create a Law Enforcement Liaison within the Governor’s Office; and,
  • Rebuild the morale and capabilities of Wisconsin law enforcement.

Combat veteran and businessman, Kevin Nicholson, explained:

As a candidate for governor, I understand the severity and scope not only of Wisconsin’s crime wave, but the dissolution of law and order that we are seeing in our society – and I have practical ideas for addressing the problem. Today, I’m announcing a 5-Point Plan for a Safer Wisconsin.

I pledge to the people of Wisconsin: when it comes to your safety and the safety of your family, as your governor, I will never give you cheap, trite talking points. I will work to understand the issues that drive our state’s problems, and then develop practical, real-world solutions that actually solve these problems and get our society back on track.

I’ve spoken with every single sheriff supporting my candidacy – and will continue to do so. I’m proud to have the support of law enforcement leaders from across the state as we work to build a better future for Wisconsin.”

Retired Brown County Sheriff, John Gossage, commented:

“Law enforcement needs a governor who has their back — and Kevin Nicholson is the right person to lead our state. As a combat veteran, he has an understanding of the stress and scrutiny faced by law enforcement today. He’ll demand accountability and the highest standards, but he’ll also provide the leadership that our entire state needs during an intensely challenging time.”
