APPLETON – Outagamie County Executive, Tom Nelson, issues a statement on the recent and unexpected passing of Fond Lu Lac County Executive, Allen Buechel.
“County Executive Buechel was the consummate public servant. Al always put the interest and wellbeing of his county first. He could be counted on to navigate his county through the treacherous shoals of tough economic times — which he famously said was all the time, alluding to politicians over use of the term. Fond du Lac has consistently been one of the best-run counties in the state–and it was no coincidence that Al was at the helm. He will be sorely missed — but his legacy will live on. My condolences and well wishes to his family.”
