LA CROSSE — Today, following the release of last month’s retail sales data which showed that inflation continues to impede consumer spending, State Senator and nominee for Congress Brad Pfaff criticized both Republicans and his own party for not doing enough to address rising costs for working families.

“Western Wisconsinites are still facing high costs across the board while corporations pull in record profits, and politicians on both sides of the aisle aren’t doing enough to support working families,” said Brad Pfaff. “We need leaders who will fight to lower costs, build resilient supply chains, and invest in our manufacturing economy, not obstructionists like Derrick Van Orden who has yet to deliver one tangible policy proposal to address rising costs. I’m running to bring western Wisconsin values to Congress, and I won’t rest until working families have the strong voice they deserve in Washington.”

Growing up in western Wisconsin, Brad learned the value of hard work, resilience, and getting things done. As State Senator, he introduced legislation to create Wisconsin’s first-ever Office of Prescription Drug Affordability to hold drug manufacturers accountable. As a member of Governor Evers’ Task Force on Broadband Access, he successfully advocated for a $129 million investment in broadband expansion—the largest in state history. And, he voted in favor of the 2021-2023 state budget signed into law by Governor Evers that included a more than $2 billion tax cut.
