STEVENS POINT — Today, State Senator and nominee for Congress Brad Pfaff held a press conference with State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski to discuss threats to reproductive rights and announce that the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Treasurer Godlewski have endorsed his campaign for Congress.

“I’m running to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land, and I’m proud to have earned the endorsements of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Treasurer Godlewski who will help me make this goal a reality in Congress,” said Brad Pfaff. “My opponent believes that abortion is genocide and supports a national ban on abortion. I’m here to say that Derrick Van Orden doesn’t understand the values of this district, and that we aren’t going to let people like him make our reproductive health care decisions.”

“We need reproductive rights champions like Brad in Congress,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Brad will be a champion for his community and champion for protecting reproductive health care, including abortion access, in Washington. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Brad Pfaff for Congress and looks forward to working with him to protect our reproductive rights.”

“Millions of women in Wisconsin and across the country woke up this summer with fewer rights,” said Treasurer Sarah Godlewski. “Now we’re facing efforts in Congress to pass a national abortion ban, which is why we need to send people to Congress who will prioritize our reproductive freedom. I am proud to stand with Planned Parenthood to endorse Brad. As someone who grew up in this district, I know Brad is the leader that the 3rd CD needs!”

Brad believes people like Derrick shouldn’t be making women’s reproductive health care choices for them. That’s why Brad was the first state legislator to ask Governor Evers to call a special session to codify Roe v. Wade into state law and to repeal the 1849 abortion ban law. In Congress, Brad will not rest until Roe is the law of the land.
