| Tanya Atkinson, President of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin issued the following statement: |
| “The truth about Tim Michels and his extreme beliefs about abortion are simply too disturbing to overlook. Women and girls have already been harmed by the criminal abortion ban Michels has repeatedly said he supports. This ban is forcing women— including victims of rape and incest—to travel across state lines to access abortion care or be forced to carry pregnancies that put their health and lives at risk. To now learn that Michels believes a 12-year-old girl who has been raped should believe that her pregnancy “was created by God” is cruel and dangerous. Time after time, Tim Michels has demonstrated that he is willing to prioritize his radical beliefs and the agenda of radical organizations over the health and well-being of women and girls. If Michels doesn’t even believe that a child deserves compassionate medical care – how can he be trusted with any decision? Tim Michels beliefs and actions are alarming and make him a dangerous choice for Governor.” |
