WASHINGTON – Today, President Biden announced his intent to appoint the following individuals to serve in key roles:

Adam Tindall-Schlicht, Administrator, Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Jacqueline Amy Norris, Member, President’s Commission on White House Fellowships Michael E. Capuano, Member, Public Buildings Reform Board

Adam Tindall-Schlicht, Administrator, Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Adam Tindall-Schlicht was most recently the Director of Port Milwaukee, where he oversaw and directed multimodal, commercial, and passenger vessel operations that generated over $100 million in economic activity annually. Tindall-Schlicht also served as a Commissioner of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and a Board Member of the Great Lakes Protection Fund, both roles appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.

Tindall-Schlicht has significant experience in marine transportation, international marketing, and Great Lakes shipping. He is a graduate of the U.S. Department of Transportation Career Residency Program. A native of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Tindall-Schlicht holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from American University. His husband, Aaron, is a critical care and surgical nurse.

President’s Commission on White House Fellowships
The President’s Commission on White House Fellowships is composed of outstanding citizens who reflect the diversity and strength of America while representing a broad range of backgrounds, experiences, and professions. Commissioners are responsible for recommending a group of candidates to the President for selection as White House Fellows, a prestigious program for leadership and public service that provides young Americans experience working at the highest levels of the federal government.

Jacqueline Amy Norris, Member, President’s Commission on White House Fellowships
Jackie Norris is a business owner and community leader. She is currently the President and Owner of SPPG and has worked in a variety of positions including as the White House Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama, the CEO of Goodwill of Central Iowa, and served in leadership at the non-profit Points of Light. Her most rewarding position was as a high school government teacher where she worked with students and encouraged them to use their voices and advocate for causes they believed in. Norris serves on the Board of Directors for Iowa’s largest public school system, Des Moines Public Schools.

Norris was born in Ossining, New York, and earned a degree in political science from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1992 and later a Masters in Political Science from Iowa State University. In 2002 Norris received her secondary education teacher certification from Iowa State University. She is the 2005 award recipient of the James Madison Fellowship for her commitment to becoming an outstanding teacher of the American Constitution. Over the years Norris has served as an adjunct professor at American University in Washington, DC, and John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. Norris and her husband John live in Des Moines, Iowa with their three sons Hunter, Cole, and Sam.

Public Buildings Reform Board
The Public Buildings Reform Board was established under the Federal Assets Sale & Transfer Act of 2016 as an independent agency to identify opportunities for the Federal government to significantly reduce its inventory of civilian real property and thereby reduce costs.

Michael E. Capuano, Member, Public Buildings Reform Board
Michael Capuano is an attorney who served in the U.S. Congress from 1999 to 2019. He served on the Financial Services Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and chaired several subcommittees. Speaker Pelosi selected Capuano to Chair the Democratic Transition in 2006. In 2007, Capuano authored the bill that created the Office of Congressional Ethics. Capuano founded the Congressional Caucus on Sudan and South Sudan and the Community Health Center Caucus. Prior to Congress, Capuano served nine years as the Mayor of his hometown, Somerville, Massachusetts, which is the most densely populated city in New England. Capuano enacted environmental reforms, reduced crime, lowered class sizes, instituted an affirmative action plan, and appointed women to lead more than half the city’s departments, leading to dramatic improvements by the end of his tenure.

Capuano currently works at the Venable, LLP, law firm, which has offices around the country. Capuano met his wife, Barbara, at Somerville High. He graduated from Dartmouth College and Boston College Law School. Barb is a CPA in Boston and together they have two adult sons, Mike and Joe, who both live and work in the Boston area.
