Project Democracy PAC has launched a statewide digital ad campaign supporting Dem Gov. Tony Evers’ reelection campaign and slamming his GOP opponent Tim Michels for declining to sign a pledge that he would accept election results.

The six-figure spot features Democratic and Republican business leaders with Wisconsin Business Leaders for Democracy.

The group sent a letter to the candidates in late September asking them to agree to 10 tenets, including: to accept the results of the gubernatorial race, to veto measures aiming to decertify the 2020 presidential election results, and to certify the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

“Governor Evers said yes, but Tim Michels refused to answer,” the business leaders say.

In the ad, Republicans Anoop Prakash, an automotive industry executive, and David Irwin, an executive in the technology industry, say they will be voting for a Dem guv for the first time.

Michels is endorsed by former President Donald Trump and has questioned the legitimacy of the 2020 election results.
