Today, the Wisconsin Assembly passed AJR 109 honoring the victims of the attack at the Waukesha Christmas parade, extending condolences to the families of those who died, expressing hope for the full recovery of each injured individual, and recognizing the heroism of first responders. Rep. Allen released the following statement:

“No words can restore the lives lost or heal the harm done at the Waukesha Christmas parade, but it is important to collectively mourn the lives lost, pray for the injured and grieving, and give thanks for those who showed love in so many ways on that day.

“Now we need to build on this resolution with more than just words. We need to act to ensure that the laws of this state and the correct application of them by the courts enable our communities to be places of safety. We don’t want any community to experience what Waukesha did in November.”
