MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers delivered his fourth State of the State Address in the Wisconsin State Capitol. Governor Evers highlighted signing one of the largest tax cuts in state history, the largest rainy day fund allotment, lowest unemployment rate and number of people unemployed in state history, and large investments in workforce training as major milestones for 2021. Additionally, he announced key investments in Wisconsin’s veterans and military personnel, rural healthcare and access to care, and student mental health. Representative Samba Baldeh (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“I was delighted with Governor Evers’ address tonight, his steadfast leadership has kept Wisconsin heading in the right direction during an extremely challenging period in our state’s history.”

“Governor Tony Evers investments in our state and our people have clearly paid off. One year ago, no one would have predicted that our state would have a record unemployment rate and record surplus. This shows that leading with empathy and doing the right thing can put Wisconsin in a better place and help move our state forward.”
