MADISON – State Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) made the following statement regarding Senator Alberta Darling’s retirement announcement:

“Senator Darling has served her constituents and her caucus with decency and integrity for over thirty years. As the longest serving woman co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, she fought for the people of Wisconsin in making wise investments for our future, while ensuring taxpayers kept more of their hard-earned dollars.

“During my first two terms on the Joint Committee on Finance, Senator Darling served as the Senate co-chair of the committee. She graciously led by finding consensus where possible, but always standing up for what she believed to be right—a legacy I hope to continue as Assembly co-chair.

“Senator Darling’s tenacity and decorum will be missed in the Capitol. I wish her all the best in her retirement.”
