Madison, WI—Today, Representative Rob Brooks (R-Saukville), was appointed chairman of the newly-created Special Assembly Committee on Trade and Supply Chain.

The Special Assembly Committee on Trade and Supply Chain will focus on the relationship between the labor shortage and supply chain interruption and the impacts and barriers this creates for businesses and consumers.

“It is an honor to chair a committee focused on one of the most consequential issues facing Wisconsin and our nation—inflation and its contributing factors. Supply chain shortages, trade deficits, worker shortages, and work force housing crises pose an existential threat to fiscal solvency and a robust economy. I look forward to identifying solutions to address these shortcoming and further grow Wisconsin’s economy,” said Representative Rob Brooks.

The Special Assembly Committee on Trade and Supply Chain will examine the disruptions in production and distribution of products over the past two years, the lack of workers in the labor market, and Wisconsin’s role in recovering.

“I look forward to passing legislation to address Wisconsin’s supply chain and trade issues and meeting with stakeholders impacted by these issues,” Representative Brooks said.
