MADISON – Today, Rep. Cabral-Guevara (R- Fox Crossing) issued the following statement in response to the resignation of Dr. Peter Kallio from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing:
“I was shocked to hear that Dr. Kallio had resigned from the state’s board of nursing; but not surprised to hear that it was due to the Governor’s veto of the APRN bill, that would have allowed nurses to perform to the full extent of their authority,”
“We continue to see the consequences when politicians decide to listen to special interest groups, rather than listening to their constituents and doing what is right. Dr. Kallio has been a strong advocate for common sense and affordable, accessible healthcare for Wisconsin,”
“I hope that during the next session we can right this wrong and see it through the finish line,” Rep. Cabral-Guevara remarked.
