MADISON – Today, Rep. Hintz, Rep. Spreitzer, Rep. Subeck, and Rep. Emerson introduced LRB-5815. A resolution relating to withdrawing authorization of Wisconsin State Assembly partisan election review efforts. Rep. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) released the following statement in response:

“For months now, there has been a partisan attack on our democracy by the Office of Special Counsel. The Wisconsin State Assembly’s Republican leadership has invested hundreds of thousands of taxpayer money into this completely unnecessary and sham investigation led by Justice Gableman.”

“This investigation has provided no new or credible evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Meanwhile, there has been numerous credible efforts that prove our state’s elections are secure, transparent, and fair. There have been ballot recounts, court cases, and audits that all confirmed the integrity of Wisconsin’s elections.”

“It is high time this investigation comes to an end. Justice Gableman’s abuse of tax payer’s dollars has gone on long enough and Speaker Vos should do the right by Wisconsin tax payers and pass this resolution to end this investigation.”
