WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) honored candidates from Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District who were recently nominated for appointment to the U.S. service academies.

“Nominating students to become our country’s next leaders at the U.S. service academies is one of the highest honors I have as a representative of the Fifth Congressional District,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “This year’s slate of nominees are a group of high caliber students who have all demonstrated the intelligence and grit it takes to be a leader in our armed forces. I am confident they will represent not only our country but also Southeast Wisconsin with distinction.”

“I also want to thank our board members who took time out of their personal schedules to help carefully evaluate applicant materials and execute thoughtful interviews. They played a critical role in ensuring this process was accomplished with success,” added Congressman Fitzgerald.
