On Tuesday, November 8th, Oregon Village Trustee Jenna Jacobson won the election for the 43rd Assembly District- composed of Oregon, Stoughton, Edgerton, and their neighboring communities. Due to redistricting, Stoughton was moved to the 43rd District after being a part of the 46th Assembly District, and has been represented by Rep. Gary Hebl for the last 18 years. Rep. Hebl released the following statement:

I want to extend my congratulations to Representative-Elect Jenna Jacobson on her victory last night. She has been a tireless advocate for her constituents as a member of the Oregon Village Board, and I know she will do the same for the people of the 43rd Assembly District.

Running for office isn’t easy. Candidates sacrifice time with their families and have nearly no free time while campaigning- all in the name of working to help improve the lives of the people they hope to represent. I would like to thank Jenna for her commitment to the 43rd District. I would also like to thank her husband and three children for their patience and support through what I know to be a trying time.

I have represented Stoughton for almost twenty years. It has been the honor of my lifetime to be the voice of my constituents in Madison. It of course saddens me to be leaving the legislature, but gives me hope to see good people like Rep.-Elect Jacobson entering elected office after me. The next generation of Democratic leaders is coming to Wisconsin, and I believe they will help move our state forward.

I once again would like to thank Rep.-Elect Jacobson for running and congratulate her on her victory. The people of Stoughton and the rest of the 43rd District will be in good hands.
