Representative Jessie Rodriguez (R-Oak Creek) issued the following statement regarding her appointment to continue serving as a member of the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) for the 2023-2024 legislative session:

“I want to thank Speaker Robin Vos for placing his trust in me to continue serving on the Joint Committee on Finance. Serving on this committee for the past two years has been a true honor, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to do so.

“This committee is tasked with the great responsibility of reviewing our state’s revenues, appropriations, and using that information to craft a new biennial budget. As we undertake this important task, the members of JFC recognize the importance of a responsible budget that continues to move Wisconsin forward and helps Wisconsinites face ongoing inflation. With a projected surplus of over $6.5 billion, we have an incredible opportunity to fund our priorities AND cut taxes to benefit all Wisconsin taxpayers.

“I’m eager to get back to work with Co-Chair Mark Born, Vice Chair Terry Katsma, and the rest of the committee members as we begin a new session and start the 2023-2025 budget process.”
