Rep. Terry Katsma (R–Oostburg) has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R–Rochester) to serve a third term as a member of the Joint Committee on Finance during the 2023-24 legislative session—and, for the first time, in the role of Assembly Vice-Chair to the committee.

“It is my great privilege to be entrusted to serve the people of Wisconsin in a new role on the Joint Finance Committee,” said Rep. Katsma.  “Many thanks are due to Representative Amy Loudenbeck, who contributed a wealth of experience to the committee in recent years, and I sincerely thank Speaker Vos for selecting me to assume new leadership responsibility.

“Twice in just the past four years, the Legislature has enacted responsible, realistic, conservative budgets that even Governor Evers didn’t dare to veto.  I believe in Wisconsin; I believe in the reforms that have led our strong recovery and record growth over more than a decade; and I am eager to keep building upon these successes in the upcoming legislative session.”

Rep. Katsma was first elected to the State Assembly in 2014 and has been a member of the Joint Finance Committee since 2019.  He has also previously served as chairman of the Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions; as vice-chairman of the Assembly Committee on Ways and Means; and as a member of the State Building Commission.  His private-sector experience prior to public service includes more than 30 years in senior positions in the banking industry.
