Madison, Wisc. – Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement after the release of Election Reform Bills.

“As Vice-Chair of the Joint Audit Committee, the Legislative Audit Bureau’s report on Election Administration provided the legislature with a great road map of what we can improve on in our elections statewide. The people of Wisconsin deserve to have confidence in our election system.

Today, Senator Bernier, Representative Duchow, Representative Dittrich and I introduced election reform bills which address areas of concern found in both the Legislative Audit Bureau’s audit and Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty’s investigation. Though I am disappointed that Governor Evers vetoed previous election integrity bills, it is my hope that he believes in our nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau’s hard work and signs these bills into law. The goal is and always has been to make it easy to vote, but hard to cheat.”
