Madison, Wisc. – Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on redistricting:
“In our state constitution the responsibility to draw maps every ten years is relegated to the Legislature. Our government performed the way it was designed to as we saw ‘checks and balances’ in action. In the end, courts found that Governor Evers’ maps did not consider the constitutional guarantee of equal protection and the Voting Rights Act. I am happy that the courts ruled our maps were the best choice for Wisconsin and that we can move forward.”
“I am happy to have the opportunity to continue representing the great people of Green Bay, Bellevue, Ledgeview and Glenmore while we also welcome New Denmark to the 88th Assembly District.”
