Madison, Wisc. – Today, Assembly Majority Leader, Representative Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna), announced he will not be seeking reelection to the Wisconsin State Assembly in the fall. Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement:

“With Representative Steineke’s announcement of his retirement, the Wisconsin State Legislature will be losing a dedicated public servant. Representative Steineke has been a great example of bold conservative leadership throughout the past 10 years. He will be leaving the legislature with numerous accomplishments that may not have crossed the finish line without his hard work.”

“I applaud Representative Steineke as he passes the torch to the next generation of legislators. It has been a pleasure working with him on multiple pieces of legislation and I look forward to continue working with him as we close out this session. I wish Representative Steineke the best as he moves on to new endeavors in the private sector. Thank you for dedicating 10 years to serving the people of Wisconsin.”
