KENOSHA – Today, Gov. Tony Evers announced two major investments in Kenosha to improve the opportunity and economic wellbeing of the city and county.

Gov. Evers announced that he would invest $15 million in the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood, which will bring education, workforce training, entrepreneurial development, and job placement to the former Chrysler plant site.

“The Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood will create, in a space that has an important place in our history, an economic development hub that can help shape the Kenosha of tomorrow,” said Rep. McGuire.

Gov. Evers previously sought to fund the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood plan in his budget, but Legislative Republicans stripped it out.

“Despite roadblocks along the way, Gov. Evers made it a priority to get this critical project over the finish line for our city. We are extremely grateful for his steadfast commitment to our community and to making the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood a reality,” continued Rep. McGuire.

The Governor also announced a nearly $10 million investment in Kenosha County Health and Human Services, which will be used to move and upgrade their operations. The result will be better, more accessible health, job placement, and veterans services for Kenosha County.

“Kenosha County provides excellent services to our veterans and those in need of health and workforce services,” said Rep. McGuire, “This investment is a tremendous step in the right direction to make these critical services more accessible to all.”
