MADISON, Wis – Today, the Department of Revenue announced new surplus data, showing that Wisconsin is estimated to finish the biennium with more than $5 billion in the general fund. Governor Tony Evers announced his plan to support Wisconsin families with these dollars.

Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement in support:

“Yet again, Governor Evers is putting Wisconsinites first with a surplus plan that centers the immediate needs of folks across our state. This plan will put more money in people’s pockets, take steps to address rising costs for Wisconsinites, and reduce barriers to work. With the strong financial position we find ourselves in, we must do the necessary work to ensure Wisconsinites have what they need to thrive.

“Our friends and neighbors need support now – we cannot wait. It is time for legislators to act and pass this plan. It’s the right thing to do.”
