MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Evers announced the creation of the ‘Get Kids Ahead’ initiative to support school-based mental health services in classrooms across the state. Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement in response:
“I am thrilled Governor Evers is delivering on his promise to provide essential mental health services to nearly every school district in Wisconsin. This important initiative will help students grow, learn, and be successful in their education.
“In Racine alone, more than $250,000 have been awarded to the Racine Unified School District to make sure that our schools are able to provide vital mental health support and services to our students.
“The last two years have not been easy, especially for students. But I know these funds will help support student mental health and make sure our kids have what they need to succeed.”
